-->AFX) - The European Commission said it has cleared the fuel cells joint venture being established by DaimlerChrysler AG unit MTU Friedrichshafen and RWE.The joint venture -- MTU CFC Solutions GmbH -- will be active in the development, production and marketing of high temperature fuel cells.

The deal was cleared under the EU's simplified merger procedure.
