Republican George W. Bush is urging Democrat Al Gore to concede defeat in the face of Bush's 537 certified-vote lead in Florida. But the Democrats have a different tally of the hotly contested ballots: By including votes counted but not certified, they say Gore carried the decisive state by nine ballots. And Gore's attorneys will appear in a Florida court this morning.

Ich dachte schon, das politische Kabarett ist gestorben, jetzt sehe ich: wir brauchen überhaupt kein Kabarett, die Realität ist weit ärger.
