-->More re Linus Pauling. I was diagnosed with Stage 4 prostate cancer a few months ago. A week ago I started high concentration Vitamin C infusions, and within one week have seen reduction in tumor masses and increases in energy and body weight. There is meaningful literature documenting that Vitamin C in high blood concentration is selectively toxic to cancer cells (it oxidizes their environment which tumor cells cannot tolerate) and totally benign to healthy cells. The concentrations needed can't ordinarily be achieved with oral ingestion of Vitamin C, hence the need for intravenous infusion. Anyone Googling"intravenous vitamin C and cancer" will get links to a number of pages containing papers with details of the protocol and some individual case results.
Last week I was in conversation with another patient having one of these who told me she was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer and went through hell with chemo, radiation and bone marrow transplants, all to no avail with her tumor markers increasing despite all the carnage to her from these treatments. When all seemed doomed she started a course of ten high dose Vitamin C infusions over a five week period, and at the end of that period all her metastases had cleared, and there is no evidence now of any cancer in her.
These treatments are only available in some states, since some states allow unconventional treatments if the patients knowingly consent. Doctors who offer chelation may offer them, because like chelation they are not well thought of by establishment doctors. The cancer establishment is against these approaches, as is"big pharmacy". No one can get patents on the approach, and there will therefore never be enough data to prove rigorously the benefits of the approach in the absence of government support for the research, and the entry of the government brings with it such politics that it is doubtful an unbiased study could ever be done.

Russell Comment -- I've received a number of e-mails comparable to the above. As I said, Linus Pauling was a genius, and he differed with the medical establishment on many items. Pauling used to take as much as 5 grams of vitamin C a day. I take about 1500 milligrams of vitamin C. Is it worth anything? Hey, I'm still here! Pauling lived to the age of 93.

You can read all about Dr. Linus Pauling in the New York Times obituaries on the Internet. Pauling is the only person ever to win two individual (not group) Nobel Prizes. Had he figured out the secret of DNA (he was very close) he undoubtedly would have won a third Nobel Prize.
The following paragraphs are from the extensive Times obituary. Below is Dr. Pauling's vision of the future. He was a realist, and had a great deal of experience with governments.
In 1976, shortly after he had turned 75, he addressed a meeting of the American Chemical Society, which was observing its centennial. He tried to predict what might be expected of chemistry and of the world in the century to come.
Although he described himself as"optimistic," he went on to say:
"I am forced, as I think about what has happened in the world during my lifetime and as I observe governments in their processes of making decisions, to conclude that the coming century is probably going to be one in which the amount of suffering reaches its maximum."
"Unless we are wiser than we have shown ourselves to be in the past," he added,"we chemists and we citizens, we advisers of government and we government officials, there will be a catastrophe during the coming century, perhaps a series of catastrophes. The human race might survive. By 2076, we shall, I hope, have solved these problems, and from then on we may have a world in which every person who is born will have the opportunity to lead a good life."
