King and Queen of Sweden Receive Royal Farewell
His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Sultan and Yang Dipertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Her Majesty Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha Monday afternoon hosted a farewell ceremony for His Majesty King Carl the 16th Gustaf, King of Sweden and Her Majesty Queen Silvia who ended their 3-day state visit to the country. His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Dipertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Her Majesty Raja Isteri greeted the arrival of the Swedish royals at Istana Nurul Iman.

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Dipertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Her Majesty Raja Isteri as well as His Majesty King Carl the 16th Gustaf and Her Majesty Queen Silvia proceeded to the Balai Penghadapan for audience ceremony. Also present were His Royal Highness Prince Haji A-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince; His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed Bolkiah and Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Zariah and His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah. Also in attendance were Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna and Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Amal Umi Kalthum Al-Islam.
His Majesty King Carl the 16th Gustaf and Her Majesty Queen Silvia also received farewell greetings from Cabinet Ministers, Members of Privy Council, Deputy Ministers, Commander of Royal Brunei Armed Forces, Commissioner of Royal Brunei Police Force, Heads of Foreign Mission, Permanent Secretaries of the Prime Minister’s Office and Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Before departure, Their Majesties the King and Queen of Sweden proceeded to the royal dias to receive the royal salute. The national anthems of both countries were played.
His Majesty Carl the 16th Gustaf, King of Sweden and Her Majesty Queen Silvia left the country Monday evening ending a three-day state visit to the sultanate. Present at the Brunei International Airport to bid farewell to Their Majesties were His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince, and Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Lela Cheteria Sahibun Najabah Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Aziz. Also present were the Minister of Education and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs. The state visit was the first by the Swedish Monarch and Her Majesty Queen Silvia. The King of Sweden had made a private visit to Brunei Darussalam in January last year.
