U.S. elite forces land at military base near Kabul, Taliban claim to have recaptured key town: TV report - CAIRO, Nov 13: U.S. elite troops have landed at Baghram military base near Kabul, al-Jazeera reported today. The Taliban regime meanwhile claimed to have recaptured the town of Mazar-e-Sharif, according to the channel, reporting from Kandahar. The country's former Prime Minister, Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, meanwhile told al-Jazeera in a telephone interview from the Iranian capital Teheran he was negotiating for an alliance between the Northern Alliance and Taliban.
