COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho, April 15 (Reuters) - Hecla Mining Co. <HL.N> on Monday said it raised expectations 40 percent higher than its previous view for 2002 silver production at the San Sebastian mine in central Mexico.
The Coeur D'Alene, Idaho-based mining company reported that it produced an estimated 2.8 million ounces of silver in 2002, compared with the previously estimated 2 million ounces.
Gold production from San Sebastian is expected to rise by 28 percent to 32,000 ounces in 2002, compared with a previous estimate of 25,000 ounces.
Hecla said its gold operations at La Camorra produced 40,000 ounces in the first three months of the year.
