Responding to questions, Buffett said he is still on the lookout for more buys, and is open to overseas investments. Right now, he said he had stock holdings in only three overseas firms, which he did not name, and said he had wanted to buy them outright but was unsuccessful.

Asked about Aldi, the closely held German discount supermarket chain, he said it interested him.

"I'd be delighted to own it," Buffett said.
