Gold Fields Welcomes Anglo American Upping Stake To 20%

JOHANNESBURG -(Dow Jones)- Gold Fields Ltd. (GOLD), South Africa 's second- biggest gold producer, Friday welcomed mining giant Anglo American PLC's (AAUK) move to raise its stake in the company to 20%.

London -headquartered Anglo American upped its shareholding by 3.9% and will consolidate its ownership of Gold Fields from July 1.

Willie Jacobsz, Gold Fields' vice president for corporate affairs and investor relations, told Dow Jones Newswires the transaction was"not entirely unexpected."...
