Hat der Kalte Krieg nie geendet?
-->"No Turning Back"
by J. R. Nyquist
A carefully crafted propaganda campaign is now underway. Outside of America this propaganda can be found in the pages of Pravda, in the utterances of Saddam Hussein, and in the Chinese and North Korean official press. Its coordination depends on a nexus that links Moscow, Beijing, Pyongyang, Tehran and Baghdad. It is a nexus composed of America’s Cold War adversaries and their client states - North Korea, Syria, Iran, Libya and Iraq. In the United States one finds this nexus tied to yesterday’s “useful idiots” and “fellow travelers.” Last weekend we were treated to organized protests and marches across the country. The protestors were holding up banners that said, “No blood for oil.” There is an idea, deeply implanted in the psyche of half-educated enthusiasts that if war occurs, it will be due to the greed of oil magnates. It will be the fault of capitalism: a wicked system guilty of bringing a high standard of living to the masses of the developed countries.
Few have stopped to notice that the major oil companies do not want a Middle East war. For that matter, who bothered to notice the extent to which capitalism disarmed after its nemesis - International Communism - began playing dead? War is not good for business. War is bad for business. War gets in the way of consumption and shopping. Big business does not want its oil shipments cut off, its refineries targeted, its employees and business associates killed. Contrary to Communist propaganda, big business does not want stocks to fall even more than they already have. Contrary to Marxist propaganda, business is about buying and selling. It is not about destruction and death. Yet this simple truth is not understood by a large cross-section of people who enjoy the American way of life.
If the terrorists and Communists have their way, we won’t be enjoying our standard of living for much longer. On Sunday al Jazeera television broadcast an audiotape allegedly made by Osama bin Laden. “According to God,” announced a voice that sounded like bin Laden’s, “Allah’s young men are preparing to fill your hearts with terror as they target your economic lifeline to stop your oppression and aggression against the faithful.”
The Voice of Terror declared that America must understand the attacks of Sept. 11, “which came in response to some of your previous crimes.” According to bin Laden, America has failed to understand or rebuke the “activities of the band of criminals in the White House” and certain unnamed “Jewish agents” who are preparing to “attack the Muslim world.” Therefore, America will be punished.
On October 5 The Guardian newspaper in Britain reported that American spy satellites intercepted a conversation recorded less than a month ago in which Mullah Omar passed along a greeting from bin Laden who was standing nearby. Voice analysis suggests the nearby voice was indeed bin Laden’s. [See http://www.observer.co.uk/international/story/0,6903,805618,00.html ]
On the very day bin Laden warned of an attack against America’s “economic lifeline,” a French-registered oil tanker exploded and caught fire off Yemen. It is being reported that a small boat loaded with explosives rammed the tanker “Limburg.” Jacques Moizan, director of the company that owns the ship, said that the crew “saw a high-speed vessel approaching on the starboard side.” An explosion followed shortly thereafter. This incident did not occur without advanced warning. Last month the United States Navy announced that terrorists were planning to ambush oil tankers in the “Arabian Gulf and Horn of Africa areas.” What this means for the oil business is hard to say, but the Middle East is clearly becoming more dangerous.
Last week CNN obtained secret documents based on the testimony of American Taliban John Walker, convicted for aiding and abetting America’s enemies. Walker told U.S. authorities the nature of the terrorist’s overall plan. There would be three waves of attacks. We saw the first wave on Sept. 11, 2001. The second wave was planned for the following November. The third wave was scheduled for early 2002. If Walker is correct the administration’s program of arresting, deporting and detaining suspicious persons may have been effective. Meanwhile, President George W. Bush continues his campaign to push for the disarmament of Iraq. It is a campaign that has put the United States on a path to war. According to the President, America must be prepared to receive severe blows. A desperate Saddam Hussein might unleash biological or chemical weapons.
On October 3 Israeli Defense Minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer told Labor Party ministers in Tel Aviv that the American assault on Iraq “will begin toward the end of November.” He further stated that Israel was preparing to cope with a possible mass destruction strike from Saddam Hussein. He speculated that Iraqi missiles would not be the means of delivering such a strike because this would give a propaganda victory to the U.S., confirming President Bush’s warnings about Iraq’s capabilities. Ben-Eliezer hinted that the preferred means of delivery would be terrorist cells. Israeli Foreign Minister Shimon Peres, speaking before the World Jewish Congress in Jerusalem on the same day, said Iraq had to be dealt with before it was too late. The leadership of Israel, Great Britain and the United States believe there is a serious threat in play.
No one should doubt that Iraq is a threat. But who stands behind this threat?
Iraq’s army does not sport American equipment. Iraq’s missiles, tanks, artillery and aircraft are of Russian design (with a very small percentage of French-made weapons). It can be argued, though few would dare, that the machinations attributed to Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein can be laid at the front gate of the Kremlin - our “trusted” ally. The Russian leaders, with their KGB credentials, now hide their enmity behind friendly smiles and promises. Yet these Russian leaders continue to hide the fact that their predecessors and mentors in office acquired American POWs during the Vietnam War for use in biological and chemical experiments. Mind control drugs were tested on American prisoners. Please note: Biological agents were tested on Americans because Americans were the Main Enemy. Russia’s biological and chemical weapons were designed with the American immune system in mind. Testimony on this has been presented by Joseph D. Douglass, Jr. in his new book, Betrayed. [See http://www.jrnyquist.com/betrayed.htm.] The lethal hatred for America that fueled Russia’s secret chemical and biological preparations could not be better illustrated. What is Saddam Hussein when compared with forty years of intensive Russian research into breaking the American psyche with drugs and destroying American society with microorganisms? On page 47 of the book, Douglass described the reasons behind Russia’s involvement in building up terrorist organizations (the kind of organizations that now threaten us with biological and chemical weapons):
International terrorism was born as a mechanism whose primary purpose was to undermine the stability of governments around the world and to prepare the ‘revolutionary situation.’ Its secondary mission was to cause a split between the United States and other countries and help drive the United States into isolation.
Bill Gertz of the Washington Times alleges that al Qaeda has been shopping for nuclear weapons in Russia. Al Qaeda even has ties to the Russian mafia! [See http://www.washtimes.com/national/20021008-95898602.htm.] When the first nuclear bomb is detonated on American soil and the radioactive signature is traceable to the former Soviet Union, Russia’s alibi will be readily available. The broad shoulders of the Russian mafia will carry the blame. The widely advertised corruption and degradation of the Russian armed forces will also receive honorable mention.
Writing to explain how Russian policy merges with the bin Laden plans and the Iraqi threat, Russian-born writer Andrei Navrozov has argued [See http://www.jrnyquist.com/navrozov_2002_1001.htm.] that “the worldwide ‘collapse’ of ‘Communism’ is a strategic maneuver, that ‘restructuring’ in the ‘Soviet Union’ is the transfer of power from the old Communist Party clique to the new secret-police junta.” It is a continuation of the old totalitarian system under a new, more deadly, leadership. Like the old system it aims at the destruction of the United States. When Russian President Vladimir Putin offered to defend Europe from radical Islam prior to the Sept. 11 attacks, the former KGB colonel knew exactly what he was doing. The scarecrow of Muslim fundamentalism would be used as a stalking horse by Moscow. American power would be humbled. A frightened Europe would be corralled. Navrozov also pointed out:
During the single year preceding Putin’s election in the spring of 2000, Moscow’s known sales of military hardware to Baghdad had already been in the hundreds of millions of dollars; yet in the spring of 2001, to accelerate and direct these acquisitions, Iraq opened a ‘military intelligence bureau’ in Moscow, its 20-strong staff headed by General Mohammed Subhi, and another one in Belarus, headed by Colonel Kamil Hadidi (see, for instance, the Sunday Telegraph, February 25, 2001). Defectors from Saddam Hussein’s regime, meanwhile, brought to the West the news that ‘Iraq carried out a successful nuclear test before the Gulf War and now has a nuclear stockpile.’ The test, carried out in September 1989 underneath Lake Rezzaza, used ‘a gun-assembly nuclear warhead bought off the peg from Russia’ and went undetected because ‘the Russians supplied Iraq with a table listing US satellite movements’ (see the Sunday Times, February 25, 2001).
No wonder the U.S. vice president is kept in a safe hiding place. In the great chain of being that can be traced upward from the lowly terrorist cell to Baghdad and on to Moscow, the idea is to bring America to its knees. This is what Fidel Castro spoke of when he visited Iran last year.
In regard to this, the American establishment is partially blind. It sees Iraq and the terrorists, but it refuses to acknowledge any Russian involvement behind the scenes. Readers of this site will recall that the great stock market craze began after the fall of the Soviet Union. What would happen if everyone suddenly admitted that we were in a war for our survival against the world’s largest country and the world’s most populous country - against Russia and China? What if the Cold War never ended? What if it were acknowledged that years of research and planning had gone into engineering our destruction by the most diabolical means? The markets are already tumbling. Investors are already fearful. It might be argued that if Bush told the truth about the magnitude of the threat, he would be blamed for sinking the economy.
But does President Bush even know the magnitude of the threat?
The collapse of U.S. intelligence, the many failures of the FBI and CIA are becoming better known, day by day. Those protestors of last weekend, with their Marxist slogans, ought to serve as exhibit “A” in making the case that we have been subverted here at home. The fact that Russia supports Iran’s missile and nuclear industries, that Russia is organizing joint military maneuvers with China, that Russia is the likely source of Iraqi and terrorist nuclear weapons ought to make us sit up and take notice. We are at war with something larger, something more lethal than Osama bin Laden. Until this fact is understood by the U.S. leadership and by the American people, the danger to our country will grow. While an oil tanker burns off Arabia, while terrorist cells prepare further strikes, while Russia goes back on its treaty commitments to retain dozens of ICBMs aimed at America, the overall direction of events comes into focus. A world war has begun and there is no turning back - for either side.
