Finer war Professor and der berühmten School of Politics, International Relations and the Environment der Keele Universiät in England.
Finer ist vor der kompletten Fertigstellung des III. Bandes verstorben. Zwei Kapitel fehlen dem III. Band, der leider (wohl mangels Korrektur des Autors) viele ‚Typos' hat.
Leider ist das Buch auch ziemlich teuer. Alle drei Bände kosten bei Amazon $ 200,-
Bei Addall kann man nach der günstigsten individuellen Lösung suchen (gebraucht/neu/Paperback/Hardcover - dort starten die Einzelbände schon bei $ 10,-).
Wer trotz aller dieser Schwierigkeiten von einer Lektüre nicht abgeschreckt wird, den erwartet ein grandioses Lese-Abenteuer: De facto führt Finer den Leser durch die Geschichte der Macht und legt dabei Einflußfaktoren ökonomischer, kultureller und religiöser Art offen. Geschichte und politische Macht werden nicht ereignisorientiert sondern einflußorientiert analysiert und dargeboten. - Fünf Sterne ohne Einschränkung!
