Shorts have to make a move soon. They have to attempt to send the market down somehow.
Maybe they make up a rumor. Maybe they try to get someone on television to yell fire. Whatever. But this rally really has started to cut into their gains, and I would suspect that soon they may have to engage in some foul play to get it lower.
Don't think that stuff happens? Please. There are some funds that are hearing from investors getting itchy to pull money out, and those funds are big enough to take matters into their own hands.
No, I don't think that they can have any sort of long-term or even intermediate-term effect. I but have to believe that someone will craft a story about the weak dollar and the weak economy and try to get the market lower here.
Let's hope they do. It will give those who have missed it another opportunity to get in!
