Low interest rates, dividend tax cuts and the need by many US companies to increase contributions to pension funds will further boost the equities markets.

''We expect $100 billion to flow into the markets this year as companies increase funding to pension funds,'' Mr Lamm said.

``General Motors alone announced it would increase its pension funding by $16 billion. You assume that 60% to 65% of that will go into equities.''
