Re: Ein Kapitalist dazu (immer schön zum O-Ton gehen):
-->"RESERVE REQUIREMENT DEPOSIT INSURANCE REVISION Due to a revision in the Deposit Insurance Law a new deposit
insurance systems went into effect July 1, 1986. Among other revisions, under the new system the maximum deposit protected by
government insurance has been raised to 10 million yen from 3 million yen; the maximum amount of assistance that the Deposit
Insurance Organization will be able to borrow from the Bank of Japan has been raised to 500 billion yen from 50 billion yen, and for
the first time the Deposit Insurance System will be able to pay depositors a lump sum of 200,000 yen upon a bank collapse until a final
resolution of reorganization is achieved. Also from July 1 1986 the Bank of Japan has introduced new bank reserve requirements.
Under the reserve requirement system banks are required to deposit a set percentage of their deposits (including certificates of deposit)
with the Bank of Japan interest free. The July 1986 revisions basically reduce the level of such deposits with the Bank of Japan.
Specifically, -the revisions will divide the commercial banks into five groups, instead of the previous three. according to the size of their
deposit base. The new reserve requirements are as follows:
Time Deposits Others
2.5 trillion yen & above 1.750% 2.500%
1.2-2.5 trillion yen 1.375 2.500
5OO billion-1.2 trillion yen 0.125 1.875
5O-5OO billion yen 0.125 0.250
50 billion yen or less None None
The revisions are expected to increase the amount of money that the banks will hold by a total of 700 billion yen. By category the
increase should be 380 billion yen for city banks, 280 billion yen for long term credit banks, 136 billion yen for local banks, 36 billion
yen for trust banks and 2.5 billion yen for credit associations. There will be no changes on reserve requirements concerning foreign
currency deposits and bonds."
Also mit 200.000 Yen, die als"lump sum" vorweg gezahlt werden, kommt man in Tokio nicht sehr weit...
Und die bad debts - ich darfs wiederholen - liegen bei ca. 34 trillion yen.
