-->noch ein paar Industrieproduktionen, die Hypothekenanträge und Ã-lbestände:
~ Industrial Production [China] (17.1%)
FIRST TAKE: Industrial production in China strengthened in August increasing by 17.1% on a year-ago basis up from 16.5% in July. The numbers so far indicate that China is headed for another banner year. Industrial output in the first eight months of the year rose by 16.5%, slightly up from 16.4% during the first seven months of the year. The results suggest that the Chinese economy has overcome any residual impact of the SARS epidemic, as exports in July grew by a whopping 33.4% during the January-July period compared to the same period a year ago.
~ Industrial Production [Czech Republic] (2.8%)
FIRST TAKE: According to the Czech Statistical Office, industrial output adjusted for work days increased by 2.8% in July on a year-ago basis. Growth in industrial production has now decelerated for four consecutive months.
~ Industrial Production [Spain] (2.9%)
FIRST TAKE: Spanish industrial production increased for a third consecutive month in July. The month’s production index value is the second highest on record, providing further evidence of an improved manufacturing industry.
~ MBA Mortgage Applications Survey [United States] (771.8)
FIRST TAKE: Mortgage applications posted their largest jump last week since March in response to a decline in mortgage rates. Nevertheless, at 772, the MBA applications index remains far below the heights reached in the spring and early summer. The broader trend is still one of slowing, and this will become evident in other housing statistics in the coming months.
~ Oil and Gas Inventories [United States] (276.2 MB)
FIRST TAKE: The Energy Information Administration reported a sizable drop in commercial crude oil stocks. The bullish impact of the drop in crude oil stocks will be moderated by a strong build in distillate stocks and a surprise build in gasoline inventories. The API numbers are to be released shortly.
