Corporations destroy little stores
once owned by people who care,
Media us into what we can think,
Advertise us into what we can wear,
Steal our creativity,
Monopolize the free market
with cloned shoes, shirts, foods, and music,
Monotonize society
with the same new name brand apparel on everyone,
Globalize an earth of diverse cultures
into a planet of universal trends,
Mainstream a population of unique individuals
until they drown in a river of conventionalism,
Sweatshop the poor,
Labor the hungry,
And overwork the foreign
at an expense of just a few pennies a day,
while they Nike us into buying their shoes,
McDonald us into buying their food,
Hollywood us into watching their videos,
at a profit of endless cash
that ends up in the hands of the greedy,
And Americanize us into forgetting
that there is still a world of endless possibilities.
