-->Bernard Swanepoel, chief executive of South Africa’s Harmony Gold,
has warned that gold production could drop by as much as 20 percent if the
country’s currency remains at its current levels. The chief of what is soon
to be the world’s fourth largest gold miner said there was a confluence of
supply side factors which would choke off gold production in coming years,
giving a much needed boost to a gold market dogged by fears of a supply
overhang from Central Banks.
