Hie ein paar Nachrichten über die ich gerade"gestolpert" bin:

Johannesburg (Business Day, October 30, 2000) - The South Africa gold industry's long-awaited consolidation could occur sooner than expected, if analysts' interpretations of comments by AngloGold CE Bobby Godsell at the weekend are correct.

Interpretatinsversuch (für die Akten, damit ich später nachschauen kann):
#Ausgezeichnet, siehe Stahlindustrie anfang der 90er oder Ã-lindustie. Produktion wird weiter konsolidiert (= verringert) werden. Unprofitable Minen, die sich bisher mit Vorwärtsverkäufen über Wasser gehalten haben, werden (vorläufig) eingemottet werden - schlechte Nachrichten für die Shorties (außer Anglogold spielt auf ihrer Seite mit).

Russia's Gokhran says backs durable PGM quotas for CBR, Norilsk Moscow--Nov. 3--
Russia's State Depository for Precious Metals (Gokhran), which is in charge of the country's platinum group metals (PGM) export policy, supports granting a 5-year export quota for palladium to the Central Bank of Russia (CBR) and Norilsk Nickel and a 5-year rhodium quota for Norilsk, an aide to Gokhran Chairman Valery Rudakov said Friday. A separate platinum quota is expected to be allocated to Vneshtorgbank, he said. ( Story.14034 )

Russia's Rosbank ups gold, silver purchases from producers Moscow--Nov. 2--
Rosbank, one of the leading Russian banks, increased its gold purchases from domestic producers by 21% on year to about 21 tonnes in January-October. Silver purchases rose 670% on year to 108 tonnes, Deputy Director of the bank's precious metal department Alexander Tikhomirov said Thursday. He said the bank plans to conclude deals for 30-35 tonnes of gold in 2001 and export the larger part of it. ( Story.22546 )

Russia's Nomos-Bank increases gold buying from producers Moscow--Nov. 3--
Russia's Nomos-Bank purchased 12.5 tonnes of gold from domestic producers in January-October, up 102% on the year, the bank's spokesman Konstantin Zhukovsky said Friday. He said the bank planned to increase purchases next year and had already started providing advance payments to producers for gold to be extracted in the 2001 season. ( Story.13385 )
