chart:EUR/USD-Friday's explosive intervention inspired fireworks display ran into resistance at 38.2% of the June-October decline. Coupled with some minor bearish divergence on intraday charts this suggests the Euro will surrender Friday's gains to 0.8578 (38.2% 0.8227 to 0.8795), where we would expect the Euro to base in preparation for the next up-leg. Failure to do so however, would threaten near-term bullish sentiment and risk a deeper correction to 0.8550 - the gateway to 0.8511 and 0.8444 where the Euro should run into firmer support. Only below here negates the potential for a more meaningful medium-term reversal.

chart:USD/CHF-Having failed to sustain losses beneath the 38.2% retracement of the June-October decline (around 1.7465), we expect the USD will attempt to recoup some lost ground from Friday with 1.7680 seen as a viable target intraday. As long as this contains the topside, the preferred near-term view is for the USD to weaken once more thereafter with a break above 1.7680 required near-term view is for the USD to weaken once more thereafter with a break above 1.7680 required to initiate a further short squeeze back to 1.7775 and perhaps 1.7810 ahead of renewed weakness
