In the outskirts of the capital city of Kabul, twelve Coalition soldiers have been killed due to an effective new war tactic being employed with the Taliban. The Taliban are wore American and coalition uniforms in this attack, which allowed them to get deep inside the coalition close camp. Some Taliban were martyred in the attack however the number is unknown at this time. After the attack, the Afghans soldiers expressed concern over this new tactic.
Taliban attacks in the provinces of Khandahar, Ouruzgan and have resulted in deaths of dozens of Afghan militia and their allies as the daily attacks take their toll on both sides and continue to escalate. In Khandahar, a convoy of patrolling Coalition forces has been attacked killing five soldiers. At least two of the dead were members of the Afghan National Army however the nationality of the rest is not known. Meanwhile in Ouruzgan, nine coalition soldiers have been killed by Taliban Mujahideen using rockets and automatic weapons, with one believed to be an American. Four Taliban were believed to be martyred in the attack.
Warlords Continue to Wage Brutal Battles
Infighting is continuing in the Afghanistan, with ten more people killed in Khandahar in fights between the so-called National Army and the police. The Army represents the regime of Hamid Karzai, while police represent the Governor of the province. In the province of Sar-e-Pol, the barbaric forces of General Dostum and Commander Atta, both part of the government of Hamid Karzai, have resulted in the deaths of a mother and her son. It is the practice of the Northern Alliance troops to pay no attention to the lives of innocent civilians when they are engaged in the brutal fighting typical amongst warlords. Scores of civilians have been killed in recent weeks as the warlords settle their disputes and try to consolidate power in advance of the elections.
High Command Sends In More Support
Due to the rise of Taliban attacks on American and Afghan soldiers, Daily Ausaf is reporting that American high command has decided to send in more troops and helicopters to support the operation being held in the country. This will drain the resources of the Americans even more and stretch the already over stretched army even more. The spokesman for the Americans in Kabul, Rodney Davis said in a press briefing that Afghanistan will get 400 additional crack Special Forces troops and a new fleet of helicopters will also be used to guard the bases from Taliban attacks. The new Special Ops unit will focus on anti-Taliban operations and will boost the 7500 American soldiers already stationed there. In the recent attacks by Taliban, 100 American and Afghan soldiers have been killed.
