The jewish Phenomenon
-->Evtl.
The Jewish Phenomenon: Seven Keys to the Enduring Wealth of a People
von Steven Silbiger
Der Autor ist amerikanischer Jude und versucht unter anderem den Erfolg der Juden in der Vergangenheit und Gegenwart zu erklären; Über sein Buch schreibt er:
The Jewish Phenomenon Is More Than Just About the Money
My book is an in-depth look at the most successful ethnic group in America. While comprising only 2% of the US population, Jewish-Americans account for 23% of the Forbes 400 Wealthiest Americans, 45% of the top 40 people. It's a club that required a minimum net worth of $625 million in 1999. Sure, that's amazing wealth, but the real phenomena are the remarkable stories detailing major contributions to American prosperity, culture and society that lie behind each fortune. Michael Dell, Ralph Lauren, Steven Spielberg have made contributions to their respective fields that many of us enjoy. The Jewish Phenomenon outlines the contributions that Jewish-Americans have made as scientists, musicians, cartoonists, photographers, professionals- in virtually every imaginable walk of life by operating within the context of the collective wisdom of their proud and ancient tribe. Through my extensive research, I've identified 7 keys that truly create a blueprint for Jewish success. I uncovered so many remarkable individuals, stories and facts that I was previously unaware of that I can hope that the book will be as educational to read as it was for me to write. Anything but a mere catalog of Jewish accomplishments, my book outlines the 7 reasons behind the success unlike any other book. Of course education is a crucial element, but I found there are other equally important and interdependent reasons. With each key factor and chapter, I've included a section on how to integrate the lessons into any person's life. For Jewish people this is an important book that clearly and concisely provides a historical retrospective and guide for our future in an environment in which assimilation is occurring at an ever-increasing rate. It should be required reading for younger generations who remain mostly ignorant of their own people's contributions to America. I even include as an appendix a mini-dictionary of the 150 most used and misused Yiddish words which are rapidly becoming lost. For non-Jews it dispels the myths and misconceptions behind a long-held stereotype, while providing a deeper understanding of the values or Jewish culture and people. Perhaps more importantly, my book provides a roadmap that anyone, Jewish or non-Jewish alike, can follow to find a more successful and rewarding life.
