das ist nun ganz besonders schwach. Hume hat, wie oft genug im O-Ton nachzulesen, von possession gesprochen. Von property keine Rede.

Wo kommt die Kapitelüberschrift her?

Egal...

Wenn possession (Besitz! - aber sei's drum, er spricht auch so lieb von"constant possession"*) in dem Text), obwohl"natürlich" und"vernünftig" usw.: Warum musste man sich darauf"einigen", warum muss man possession"garantieren"?

Am besten bleibt doch das:

"Tis evident... after the general convention for the establishment of society..."

Weil Hume uns auch präzise mitteilt,

a) was"general" heißt (alle mit allen?)

b) was unter"convention" zu verstehen ist (gaaaaanz große Versammlung aller mit allen?)

- und wir deshalb präzise angeben können, wann das war: Am Sankt-Nimmerleins-Tag. Der wird deshalb auch immer wieder aufs Neue gefeiert.

*) Jetzt haben wir ENDLICH auch die Definition von"property". Nämlich?

Es ist"constant possession"! Denn:"property or constant possession", schreibt der große Denker. Na, wenn da mal keiner kommt und mit"inconstant possession" den Quark durcheinanderwirbelt.
