ANKARA, Turkey -- The European Commission progress report scheduled for release next week commends Turkey for legal reforms taken in an effort to bring legislation closer to that of EU, but criticises deficiencies in implementation, said Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Thursday (30 October). He acknowledged that implementation is incomplete but said that will change now that a reform monitoring committee has been established.

In other news Thursday, Economy Minister Ali Babacan announced that Turkey's currency, the lira, would be denominated on 1 January 2005. Six zeros will be erased from its value. Babacan is in New York, attending a UN General Assembly conference on development financing. (NTV, TRT 2, Anadolu Agency, NTV - 30/10/03)

Das *Nullen-Streichen* bringt gar nix - damit verschwindet leider keine Schuld.

Der *Schnitt* könnte jedoch zum Anlass genommen werden, partiell Forderungen für null und nicht zu erklären (i.S. eines Teilstaatsbankrotts). Spannend:-( wird so ein *Schnitt* allemal - mal schauen wer so alles be-schnitt-en wird...

Noch können wir's uns von hier aus anschauen und ggf. etwas davon lernen.
