-->Wenn ich das richtig lese, ist das eine RIESENWATSCHE gegen das, was seit Amtsantritt der Regiering Bush in den USA passiert ist und für Greenspans verhältnisse schon nach dem Ruf eines 'New Deal' klingt.

WASHINGTON (CBS.MW) -- Increasing inequality of income could threaten the cohesion of U.S. society, Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan said Wednesday. Responding to criticism from Rep. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., Greenspan said he agreed that increased global competition is hurting many Americans with low skills. The U.S. economy must be equitable, he said, and it must be seen as equitable by all its participants. But Greenspan railed against trying to protect the poorest and weakest from competition. Increasing the skills of all Americans is the only way the U.S. can remain an economic leader, he said. The education system needs to be improved to meet the needs of workers and U.S. business, he said.
