JIJI press reports Bush may alter strong USD-policy




JIJI press reported that ex FED chief Lindsey, one of the economic advisors of
George W. Bush, stated to Japanese politicians that with Bush winning the administration will alter the current strong-dollar policy and guide the currency lower.
Lindsey stated to LDP politicians that Bush will adopt a weak-dollar policy in order to tackle the huge current account deficit.


These news cast a new light on the forex environment. Given the unstable political background on the next president of the USA statements of Lindsey are seen adding to the uncertainty in financial markets with potential negative effects in particular for the USD.
