WASHINGTON (CBS.MW) -- The Federal Reserve will have to raise interest rates at some point, Fed Chairman Alan Greenspan said Tuesday in response to questions after a speech in New York. Greenspan said the Fed has been dealing with a special case over the past three years that requires an accommodative monetary policy. Greenspan also said"corrosive deflation" is probably not possible without a collapse in asset prices. Falling prices of goods, if caused by strong productivity, need not be worrisome, he said.
