Yen Gains to Highest in Four Years; Japan Sold 4.7 Trillion Yen in March

March 31 (Bloomberg) -- The yen surged to a four-year high against the dollar after a report showed the Japanese government is slowing the pace of yen sales as economic growth accelerates.

Japan sold 4.7 trillion yen ($45.2 billion) in March, less than the 5.2 trillion yen average in the prior two months. Record sales in the past year have limited the yen's advance against the dollar to 14 percent, boosting exporters' profits and spurring the fastest fourth-quarter economic expansion in more than a decade
