The Saudi shootings were ``an inside job,'' said Bill O'Grady, director of fundamental futures research at A.G. Edwards & Sons Inc. in St. Louis. ``This means that the Saudi industry has been infiltrated.''
Three of the four gunmen who killed the foreigners in Yanbu worked for one of the companies inside the city and used their passes to gain access, said Mohammed Jouwaiser, director general of the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu.
The killings in Yanbu are a more serious threat to the region's oil production than last week's bombings near Iraq's tanker terminals, O'Grady said, and he predicted that prices could climb to $40 a barrel.
Two of Saturday's victims were U.S. nationals, two were Britons and one was an Australian, ABB said. About 100,000 Westerners, mainly Americans and Britons, live or work in Saudi Arabia, which relies on them for management and technical expertise.
`Moving Out'
``I think a lot of American families are moving out of Saudi Arabia right now,'' said Youssef Ibrahim, managing director of Strategic Energy Investment Group, a consulting firm in Dubai, in a telephone interview from his office in New York. ``This is the first time in Saudi Arabia that an oil facility has been targeted,'' he said. ``And these guys worked there.''....
