RE: League of the South calls for secession conventions in Southern States; leftist coup d’etat in the making

The Florida State Supreme Court’s decision to allow a hand recount of votes in three predominately Democratic counties in south Florida likely will result in leftist Albert Gore, Jr. stealing the 2000 Presidential election. The court’s decision to permit Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade counties to hand count ballots until 9:00 a.m. (EST) on Monday, 27 November, opens up a scenario in which local Democratic operatives will be able to rig the tally in favor of Gore, thus handing him Florida’s twenty-five electoral votes and the Presidency.

One look at the electoral map tells us that the country is divided into two hostile camps. Gore’s support came mainly from the liberal urban bastions on the east and west coasts and in the upper Midwest, as well as from areas dominated by minority voters. Bush’s support came from the white conservative South, the Great Plains, and the interior regions of the west. There is a cultural chasm between these areas that cannot be bridged; thus we believe that a split is imminent and desirable. This indeed may be the only way to avoid serious civil disorder. If Gore is seen to have won the Presidency by crooked means, then we think that the country cannot be held together except by force and by the suspension of our ancient liberties. Under such circumstances, the more conservative areas of the country would be better off in parting company with the Gore-dominated liberal regions.

The League of the South calls upon the people of the Southern States to demand that their State Legislators immediately make plans to convene Secession Conventions. It is clear that the rule of law has died in our erstwhile republic and that a left-wing coup d’etat is in the making. Some will say that this is America and such things can’t happen here; however, to all but the willfully blind, it is clear that this unhappy chain of events is playing itself out at this very moment. The liberty of freedom-loving Americans stands in the balance. We encourage the true leaders of the South to step forward and acquit themselves like men in this crucial hour.
