Having held 0.8361 (76.4% 0.8227 to 0.8796), and in view of constructive daily momentum, we should now see a recovery to 0.8585 ahead of 0.8634 (61.8% 0.8796 to 0.8371)..An initial test of the latter is likely to fail but note, a successful assault would suggest recent gains are more meaningful than a
corrective recovery and trigger an extension to 0.8696.
Near-term support resides at 0.8479 ahead of the stronger prop at 0.8438. As long as the latter continues to provide a floor, the immediate upside focus will remain the dominant technical theme. Only a loss of 0.8438 would indicate that yesterday's rally was a false dawn and re-focus attention on 0.8361 once more.

as widely expected Gore has confirmed he will continue to fight..the validity of the Florida count - the general sentimentis is souring...americans start to think that he is fighting an unwinnable battle and will start to lose face if the issue drags on for too much longer

JPY, speculators had a net short position of 35,072 contracts. EUR, long positions were to 11,397 (one analyst said it's the largest long position since mid-August). CHF, showed a 14,700 net short position. Profit taking may then be the culprit behind the pullback from highs in USD/JPY and selling in EUR/CHF.
