US-Eichel:hab kein Ahnung wie,aber die Wirtschaft w massenhaft neue Jobs schaffe
-->NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--While optimistic that the U.S. economy will continue to churn out more jobs, U.S. Treasury Secretary John Snow told an audience of local business leaders in Florida that he was unsure where those new jobs would come from.
Speaking to the Greater Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce and the South Florida Business Alliance in Boca Raton, Snow deviated from his prepared remarks to reiterate a point he has made before.
"We are not precisely sure where the jobs of the future come from. But by gosh, we know that the American economy - the whole history of this economy - is continually creating more and better jobs," he said.
In his prepared remarks, Snow said he expected the deterioration in the labor market in recent months to be"short lived."
"The underlying fundamentals of our economy are very strong. We've seen that tax cuts work and that job creation does follow economic growth. I'm optimistic," Snow said.
