"The sale will still give the Mountain View, California, company a market value of as much as $25.8 billion, more than General Motors Corp. Founders Larry Page, 31, and Sergey Brin, 30, who compared themselves to fabled investor Warren Buffett in the IPO's pitch four months ago, will become billionaires.
The company, had sales of $1.35 billion in the first six months of this year, it said in filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Net income more than doubled to $143 million, or 54 cents a share, in the first half of this year, from $58 million, or 23 cents, in the year-earlier period. Sales also more than doubled.
