DRD plans to issue 300 mln shares, double capital

JOHANNESBURG, Aug 27 (Reuters) - South African gold miner Durban Roodepoort Deep
(DRD) (DURJ.J) said on Friday it wanted issue shares to double the amount of its
share capital to finance growth and acquisitions.

"The board is therefore seeking the approval of DRD shareholders to increase the
authorised no-par value share capital of DRD by an additional 300,000,000 shares
to 600,000,000 shares," a statement said.

Shares fell 4.5 percent to 11.70 rand by 0912 GMT.
