Massenauftritt von EZB"Euro zu stark" Heulern
-->Clement und sein frz Amtsbruder jammern auch bei jeder Gelegenheit, gefragt oder ungefragt.
"Plenty of 'too strong EUR/too weak dollar' comments from European names during the last few days which have encouraged some profit-taking, but not enough quite, it seems, to bring EUR/USD down to our 're-buy' area around 1.2850. However, the events calendar does show that there are more speakers to come - especially featuring the ECB's Issing on a couple of occasions, and with M. Trichet again with another opportunity at the OECD's World Forum. However - and its a big however, a quick look at the front page of the Wall Street Journal today gives us a reminder of the US view, which appears to reflect a comment once made many years ago by a former treasury secretary (Connally). 'Our currency - your problem'. In short, the US administration and the Fed expect the USD to keep falling, and is comfortable with that. Though there may be a build up of Eurozone pressure ahead the Nov 20 G20 meeting in Berlin, we do not expect to see the US being pushed into any currency agreement."
