-->10:11 01/12 =DJ US Snow: US Trade Gap Reflects Strong Economic Growth <
NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--U.S. Treasury Secretary John Snow downplayed Wednesday
the record U.S. trade deficit reported for November, saying it reflects strong
growth in the U.S. economy.
Speaking to reporters at the New York Stock Exchange, Snow said the"the trade
gap reflects the fact that Americans are becoming more prosperous." da hat er sogar recht...
In a subsequent interview on Bloomberg Television, he once again reiterated
the U.S. strong dollar policy."I've done this over and over again," Snow
said."It's always the same policy, our policy is the strong dollar. There's
been no change in that from the day I two years ago came into office to today."
Earlier Wednesday, the Commerce Department shocked private sector economists
when it reported a $60.3 billion trade deficit in November, a new record and
well above the $53.6 billion gap expected by Wall Street.
