NEW YORK, Sept 8 (Reuters) - The Federal Reserve Bank of New York meets banks next week to discuss credit derivatives trading in a meeting expected to focus on confusion over transfers of contracts, which some say threatens to disrupt the market.
Regulators are concerned that a delay in signing paperwork for trades and the failure to inform all parties involved when positions are transferred may lead to disputes over payments and interrupt trading if the market comes under stress.
Problems in informing all parties involved when contracts change hands will be the prime focus of the Sept. 15 meeting, dealers said. In a worse-case scenario, if the market comes under stress and participants are not informed of these transfers, they may not know their counterparties are on the contracts.
