Rente mit 67 - die britische Sicht: Spielt Verfettung eine Rolle?

auch die britischen Staatspensionskassen sind leer. Daher auch die Briten mit 67 erst Renten beziehen sollen.

Dazu gibt's Gegenstimmen, die das wg. des Gesundheitszustands der Insulaner für kostspielig halten (für die Unternehmen).

Auszüge dazu aus dem DT:

Pension at 67 to cost £4billion in sick pay

Raising the retirement age to 67 would cost British business more than £4billion a year because of extra absenteeism, a new study claims.

But charities representing older people angrily denied there is any link between age and a tendency not to turn up for work.

Mervyn Kohler: 'Older workers should be seen as a vital asset'

Sick pay currently costs industry about £32billion a year, according to the Cass Business School. Professor Les Mayhew forecast yesterday that the bill will rise to £36billion a year if workers must wait until 67 to get their state pension.

Professor Mayhew said:"The nation's ability to work longer depends upon its health and businesses' willingness to employ older workers. It is no good raising retirement age if people are physically unable to work for longer or are discriminated against in the workplace. While there are considerable savings for Government, it shifts the burden of costs to industry and fails to address the viability of working until 67 years.

But Professor Mayhew insisted that international comparisons showed British workers are often unfit and unlikely to be able to work as long as many foreign competitors. He said:"The UK population is on course to have more severe chronic health conditions than most other European countries due to a higher rate of obesity."

Ein nationales Entfettungsprogramm sollte am besten auch in entsprechende deutsche Überlegungen einfließen.

Sowas wie"Frühpensionierung" auf Staatskosten usw. ist dem britischen Gesetzesgelege bisher noch fremd.
