Feb 8 (Reuters) - USEC Inc. <USU.N> on Wednesday said its
board has voted to cease paying a common stock dividend to
redirect funds toward lowering the level of external financing
required for constructing its American Centrifuge plant.
USEC, which supplies enriched uranium fuel to nuclear power
plants, said in a statement it will not pay a dividend until the
project is completed. The dividend requirement over the next five
years would be nearly $250 million, the company said.
The company said it plans to access the equity markets this
year.
