-->No, it doesn't matter what anyone thinks, but it's quite obvious that the Bank of England dumped an awfull lot of bullion on the market yesterday..perhaps most of what they had left, in an effort to bail out the LME. It takes a lot of gold to drop the price $35 in forty five minutes.
The far more significant question remains as to just how Britain obtained $179.5 billion in US treasuries. They certainly didn't get it through exports as did Japan or China, that much is for sure. The only other answer is that it is renting out it's military for our adventures in Iraq and Afghanistan, likely involving another hidden off-budget expenditure. That is real big considering what we are getting out of the deal.
