GOLD (633.80) looks poised to surprise to the upside: intermediate momentum
turned up on Friday’s close. Gold stocks have begun to outperform bullion in
a bullish fashion once again, and a bullion close above 643.00 should confirm
the start of a new upleg (see p. 8, 22).

3. ENERGY: Crude (69.24) needs to hold important support between 67.85 and
the 200-day average at 67.01. Natural Gas (6.04) sold off sharply last week,
but the associated stocks and Trusts held up well. “Contrarian” gas play
expected to work, so long as Crude doesn’t break down decisively (see p. 7).
