Interessanter Tip - klappt sowas?

Das Folgende ist ein Tip aus einem email von http://www.3mtrading.com.
Ein bischen zu trickreich für mich. Haben die Profis hier am Board ein Meinung dazu, wo da noch weitere Risiken verborgen sein könnten? (Das Ganze geht natürlich sowieso nur mit einem USA-Konto).

January 2002 (prices are as of this writing, please verify all numbers at

Buy QCOM at 73 1/2
Sell QCOM Jan2002 90 calls @ 16 1/8
Buy QCOM Jan2002 70 puts @ 16 5/8

Net cost basis is 74 - maximum possible loss is 4 points - maximum potential
gain is 16 points - a 4:1 ratio. You should also be eligible for favorable
low margin requirements on the long equity/long put combination.

Alternative setup:

Buy QCOM at 73 1/2
Sell QCOM Jan2002 85 calls @ 17 5/8
Buy QCOM Jan2002 72.5 calls @ 17 7/8

Net cost basis is 73 3/4 - maximum possible loss is 1 1/4 points - maximum
potential gain is 11 1/4 points (a lower max point win but a much higher
reward to risk ratio). This is an attractive setup - lower potential gain,
but a tightly limited risk and almost 10 to 1 reward to risk ratio. Margin
requirements will also be lower than the other setup because the maximum
risk is lower.

Das müsste ja auch auf andere Werte übertragbar sein, Qcom ist denn doch etwas risikoreich. Ich denke da unter Umständen an Rambus (RMBS). Wer ist in der Materie genug bewandert und hätte Lust das mal auszuchecken?
