Ich hab natuerlich als Nicht-Oekonom fachlich nichts verstanden. Aber ansonsten ergibt sich folgendes Bild:

- in den letzten fuenf Tagen haben die gaengigen Risiko-Modelle (?) voellig versagt (Vorhersage/Wirklichkeit invertiert)
- aehnliche Situationen gab es nur beim Platzen der Dotcom-Blase und irgendwann Ende der 60er
- es ist kein einzelner Sektor, der pervers performt, sondern es zieht sich quer durch alle Sektoren

Das Beste aber am Schluss:

However, if one is predisposed to see all glasses as half-empty, of course, then one could make a case of despair here.


Sehr schoen: Alle mal ruhig bleiben, damit alle ueberleben! Niemand ist hinterher der Dumme! Lasst uns doch alle vernuenftig sein! (waere eine Ueberraschung, wenn das so funktionieren wuerde).

Zum Abschluss noch ein Glaubensaufruf an das Finanzsystem:

As drivers of cars down dark roads at night, we learn to have faith that the driver approaching on the other side of the road, will not swerve into our lane to hit us. In fact, he is just as afraid of our swerving to hit him as we are of his swerving to hit us. We both exhale as we pass by each other headed into the night in our respective opposite directions, successfully avoiding both of our destructions.

We believe, and earnestly hope, that is how things are headed here, that is how events will play out - that stability will win, and that calm will soon prevail. The stakes are too high for all of us for anything else to be a realistic final resolution.

P.S.: mein Glas is half-empty, bin auf'm Weg zur Bank! Hoffentlich kommt mir kein Geisterfahrer entgegen ;-)
