This came up in the discussion with one of our Long/Short Precious Metals and Natural Resources Manager. Since we are invested in Gold since 2001 we have experienced 2003 and 2005. We are there again. Too late to sell - just wait and see!!


Here is the XAU/Gold ratio chart I mentioned. When the ratio falls below.19, the average return over the next 9 months (represented by the line) is 80%.

In 2003, it was not important to buy them right away, as the market chopped around for 2 months. In 2005 however, if you waited 2 months you missed over 20% of the move.
