US-Daten - Verbraucherpreis-Index: 0,3%, weiter Anzeichen der Inflation

Der heute veröffentlichte Verbraucherpreisindex = Consumer Price Index für den Monat Februar war erneut oberhalb der Erwartungen von 0,2%.

Summary
~ Consumer prices continue to rise ahead of expectations, jumping by 0.3% as food, tobacco, medical care transportation and shelter components continue to post large gains. The core CPI, which excludes food and energy prices, increased 0.3% during the month against expectations of a 0.2% increase.
~ The core rate came in above expectations due to much higher apparel, medical care and transportation costs.
~ The core CPI inflation rate is currently running at a 2.7% year-over-year pace compared to 2.0% at the beginning of 2000.
