Below are the results of our weekly"Guess the Dow" sentiment
survey. The survey was taken from 03/12 through 03/18 on the
LowRisk.com web site.
Number of participants: 488
30 day outlook:
15% bullish, 25% previous week
69% bearish, 54% previous week
15% neutral, 22% previous week
(percentages may not sum to 100 due to rounding)
The median guess for the Dow closing value on Friday, 03/24: 9,848
(it was 10,350 last week). More complete sentiment data is available

Sentiment grew a lot more bearish last week. In fact, we are at
sentiment levels rarely seen in our LowRisk.com sentiment survey.
The bullish reading of 15% was a full 10 points below last week's
already low level of 25%. The bearish reading jumped from a very
high 54% reading all the way up to 69%. That 69% reading is the
highest we have ever seen in three and a half years of running our
Guess the Dow survey.
These sentiment readings are at a level where we would normally
expect at least a short term bounce. Of course, in a bear market
we have to interpret sentiment indicators in a different light...
The more participation we get in this sentiment survey, the
better this sentiment data is, so please stop by and tell us
