Summary

~ February durable goods orders fell 0.2%, but excluding transportation equipment, a gain of 0.5% was recorded.
~ Volatile aircraft orders fell more than $1 billion, following a $10 billion decline the previous month.
~ Electronic and electrical parts & equipment bookings rose by more than $2 billion, recovering nearly two-thirds of the January plunge.
~ Apart from these most volatile components, equipment and IT orders were broadly downward.
~ Nondefense capital goods orders, excluding aircraft, fell 4.0%.
