Thanks for your note. The figures for silver inventory from the Silver
Institute are guesses. The amount of known, verified, documented silver
bullion inventories in the world is no more than 125 million ounces. I think
that includes what's left of Buffett's silver. Saying there is more is easy,
proving it is difficult. I have never seen anyone, prove or identify more
than 125 million ounces.

I'm not sure of the motives of the shorts, maybe your guess is correct. All I
know is that selling 175 million ounces of silver, on a naked short basis, is
illegal. Whether the authorities do anything about it or not. Good luck,
