Besch....wohin man sieht

I received email questions about the plan for some top executives that guarantees a 14% annual return on savings; the Journal article named Coca-Cola as the company, where share prices for regular employees have fallen 18% this year.
There are other, equally hair-raising details.
Share prices at Qwest are down 69% this year, but top executives have unloaded $172 million in shares.
A Texas couple saw $200,000 erased from their Dell employee 401(k) plan last year, but Dell executives could shift funds into a supplemental plan that allowed other investments. Only 9% of funds in the supplemental plan held Dell stock at the end of 2000 (Dell subsequently changed to a more “open” policy for all employees).
Enron employees have seen share prices fall from $86 to $4 in little more than a year; the former CEO sold $27.5 million in Enron stock during this period.
The insult to injury comes in knowing the stiff tax penalties the IRS imposes if you actually DO move funds out of your retirement plan. Meanwhile, according to the Journal, executives protect their positions in company stock through hedging techniques provided by big-name Wall Street firms.
