Enron Files for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Protection From Creditors

Houston, Dec. 2 (Bloomberg) -- Enron Corp. filed for bankruptcy protection from creditors in the largest Chapter 11 case in history.

The company, saddled with more than $15 billion in bank loans and bond debt, teetered into insolvency after Dynegy Inc. last week abandoned a proposed takeover of its Houston-based rival.
