08/14 05:30 U.S. DOE Warns of Record Heating Bills This Winter, WSJ Says

Washington, Aug. 14 (Bloomberg) -- The U.S. Department of Energy predicts this winter's heating bills will be the most expensive in 15 years for natural-gas users, the Wall Street Journal Interactive edition reported.

Utilities are warning customers that natural-gas prices have doubled since last year, blaming increasing prices of diesel and jet fuel. Record gasoline prices have pushed refiners to focus on making gasoline, at a time when refiners normally start cranking up heating-oil production, the paper said.

The number of rigs has doubled since last year, with 772 rigs now actively exploring for gas, the American Petroleum Institute told the paper. But the results from the new production will not be felt for another six months.

Larry Chretien, executive director of the Massachusetts Energy Consumers Alliance, a consumer advocacy group, told the paper ``Whether you heat with oil, natural gas or electricity, it is going to be a very expensive winter.''

Die hohen Preise werden uns auch in Deutschland noch zu schaffen machen. Die Ferien in NRW sind beendet. Daheim zu Hause wird man zunehmend in den leeren Heizöltank schauen und man wird feststellen, daß er bald leer sein wird.

In den USA liegt die Bevorratung auf einem ca 24 Jahreslow. Auch in Deutschland liegt man mit seiner Heizöleinkellerung unter Plan.

Die Heizölpreise liegen aktuell 55-60 % über den Preisen des Vorjahres.

Wem ist dieses tatsächlich bewußt? - Der Verbraucher hat sich bislang mit seiner"Wintereinkellerung" kaum beschäftigt. Aber wehe, falls dies alle tun. Dann geht der Run auf Heizöl los.

Die Mineralölindustrie wird es freuen. Der Verbraucher hingegen wird voraussichtlich ein langes Gesicht machen und die Decke herausholen.

Der Rohölpreis wird sich daher eher fester als schwächer entwickeln.
