hier hatte doch neulich mal jemand nach den Marktaussichten für Thailand gefragt. Nach folgendem Bericht sieht es bei den stark gestiegenen Ã-lpreisen wohl nicht allzu gut aus.

 Thailand appeals for cheap oil prices
Kuala Lumpur, Aug. 19, IRNA -- Thailand has called on Asian countries
to make a united plea to oil-producing countries to lower their prices
to prevent the region's economic recovery from stalling, reports said
Saturday.
According to the Thai daily, `The Nation,' Foreign Minister
Surin Pitsuwan, in a letter dated August 17 to his counterparts in
ASEAN, OPEC and the Indian Ocean rim countries, said:"in order to
deal with this problem before its get out of hand and leads to another
economic crisis, Thailand proposes that ASEAN consider taking steps
to convey a strong and unified message about the grave repercussions
(of current oil prices) on the recovery of the East Asian economy
and world economies in general."
ASEAN groups Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines,
Singapore, Brunei, Myanmar (Burma), Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia.
Surin said the current high prices of oil could reverse the
economic recovery of Asia and other parts of the world.
Prices for raw materials and other commodities have risen as a
result of the surge in the cost of crude.
The minister in the prime minister's office in charge of energy
affairs, Savit Bhotiwihok, will contact ASEAN ministers to discuss
the details of such a move.
Oil prices were raised at last month's ASEAN Ministerial
Meeting in Bangkok and during the Group of Seven meeting in Okinawa
in Japan the week before.
Bus operators based in the north and northeastern provinces of
Thailand are planning to stage a"rally on wheels" and converge on the
capital in response to the government's refusal to allow them to raise
fares.
They claimed Savit had not raised a finger to alleviate their
plight.

Wenn der Baht wieder fällt, dann kann man wenigstens billig Urlaub machen. War eh alles zu teuer geworden.
